Student Registration & Enrollment Procedures
Welcome to the Leonia Public School District
We have attempted to provide you with most of the information you will need to register and enroll your child into our school district on this website. Most of the Documents and Forms may be filled out and printed at home and brought to the Leonia Board of Education Offices at 570 Grand Avenue (the little grey house with the sign on the front lawn).
Proof of Residency must be established before your child may enter as a student in the district. The following documentation is required at the time of registration:

Proof of Residency: a copy of a current lease or deed
- A current Utility Bill
- Child's Birth Certificate or Passport
- Student Transfer Card from the student's previous district.
Registration Forms — below is a link for forms to be completed which will enable us to determine your child’s eligibility to attend school in the Leonia School District, in accordance with New Jersey law, and process your registration efficiently and quickly.
Following are the dates for the upcoming Kindergarten Registration:
Thursday, February 15th, 9:00 am - 11:00 am & 12:30 pm - 2:40 pm
Friday, February 16th, 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Parent are encouraged to select a time slot that fits their scheduleThe following information is required to register: - Be sure to have the Registration packet completed.
- Birth Certificate or Passport
- Immunizations
- Dental Form
- Residency Information: current Lease, Deed or Tax Card, and a current Utility Bill.

What if I can not locate the paperwork that must I bring to register my child?

What is the cut-off date for registering a child for Kindergarten and Pre-K 4?
For Pre K 4 a child must be 4 years of age by October 1 of the upcoming school year and for Kindergarten a child must be 5 years of age by October 1 of the upcoming school year.

Do I need to schedule an appointment for registering my child?
Yes, appointments are required to register new students and to complete a change of address.
Do I need a current physical for my child?
Yes. A record of a current physical examination must be submitted to Leonia Schools (which indicates within one year (365 days) prior to the entry date). The physical must be performed by a physician or nurse practitioner licensed in the United States. Physical forms are available from the school nurse.
