Genesis Parent Portal
Access student grades, attendance, and emergency contact details.
Leonia Public Schools uses the Genesis Student Information System (SIS) to manage student records. Parents/guardians and students have separate portals to access this information.
Username / Email Registry: Your username is the email address registered with the school district. If you forgot your password, click the Forgot My Password button on the login screen. If you do not receive the recovery email within 15 minutes, please check your spam or junk folder.
Data Integrity Policy: As part of our school safety and communications process, we require parents and guardians to maintain accurate and up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses in Genesis at all times.
Genesis Support
If you cannot access your account or need other registry assistance, please call the main school office at 201-302-5200. Please have your student's full name and student ID number available for verification.

In accordance with the district Acceptable Use Policy, if a school-issued device or accessory is lost or damaged beyond use due to neglect, families are responsible for replacement fees:

Hardware & Repairs: If your iPad screen is cracked or the device is malfunctioning, do not take it to a third-party repair shop. Bring the device to the LHS Technology Office (located in the Library Media Center) immediately. All hardware repairs must be handled by the district's authorized services.

Leonia Public Schools is committed to preparing students for the future while maintaining rigorous educational standards, student data privacy, and age-appropriate boundaries.

🏫 Anna C. Scott Elementary (Grades K-4)Leonia Public Schools limits the exposure of AI by blocking AI access for students in grades K-4 at Anna C. Scott Elementary School. Instructional time prioritizes foundational literacy, numeracy, creative expression, and hands-on learning without artificial intelligence tools.

🏫 Leonia Middle School (Grades 5-8)AI tools are introduced under direct teacher supervision for specific educational exercises focused on digital literacy, critical thinking, and understanding technology capabilities and limitations.

🏫 Leonia High School (Grades 9-12)Students learn ethical AI usage, citation standards, and academic integrity principles. Unapproved AI generation on assignments is prohibited in accordance with the district Honor Code.

🔒 Student Data Privacy & FERPANo personally identifiable student information (PII), student work, or district credentials may be submitted to unvetted third-party AI platforms. All approved tools undergo strict data privacy review.
AI Assignment Guidance: The Traffic Light System
To provide clear expectations on classroom assignments, teachers indicate permitted AI usage using the district's Traffic Light framework:

🔴 RedNo AI AllowedThe assignment must be 100% original student work. Generative AI tools (text generation, writing, or problem solving) are strictly prohibited to ensure students master foundational concepts independently.

🟡 YellowGuided / Limited AI UseAI may be used only for specific teacher-approved tasks (such as brainstorming, outlining, grammar checking, or concept explanation). Students must cite AI tools used and show primary work.

🟢 GreenFull AI IntegrationAI tools are encouraged for open exploration, idea generation, complex data analysis, or creative collaboration. Students must document usage and reflect on output.
