District Goals 2024-2025

  • Strengthen Educator Practice in High-Leverage Instructional Strategies and Innovative Pedagogies
By June 2026, district educators will strengthen high-leverage instructional strategies and innovative pedagogies, as measured by:

    • 100% of K-2 teachers at Anna C. Scott Elementary implemented Orton-Gillingham structured literacy with at least 85% fidelity, as evidenced by lesson plans, coaching observations, and learning walks.
    • LMS staff will deepen their culturally responsive teaching practices, strengthen Tier 1 SEL practices, and implement positive classroom norms and recognition systems. These practices will be supported by instructional coaching cycles, peer walkthroughs, and collaborative professional learning activities across all schools.
    • LHS faculty and staff demonstrating foundational knowledge and ethical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance student engagement and personalize learning, with ongoing professional development provided on district-approved AI platforms.
  • Cultivate Data-Informed Decision-Making and Collaborative Professional Learning opportunities
By June 2026, the district will cultivate data-informed decision-making and collaborative professional learning, leading to:

    • All instructional staff at ACS utilizing STAR benchmark data, student work products, and formative assessments to inform instruction, with 90% of classrooms showing alignment between student needs and instructional strategies through lesson reflections, instructional walkthroughs, and student performance data.
    • LMS staff will routinely analyze NJSCI, Educlimber, and MTSS data to inform instructional and behavioral strategies and engage in structured collaborative reflection via Google Classroom and "Lesson Tune-Ups". These efforts will embed collaborative teamwork into existing structures and routines across all schools.
    • LHS staff will consistently use student performance data (state assessments, benchmark measures, local common assessments) within their MTSS framework and regularly collaborate during common planning time to discuss best practices and review curriculum.
  • Foster Equitable and Inclusive Learning Environments for All Students

By June 2026, the district will significantly advance equitable and inclusive learning environments, as demonstrated by:

    • 100% of K-2 teachers implementing structured literacy strategies with 85% fidelity and 100% of PreK-4 teachers demonstrating differentiated instruction at ACS. This goal also includes the establishment of a Gifted and Talented (G&T) program development team by November 2025 at ACS to define program vision and propose a service model for 2026-2027 launch.
    • LMS will improve student voice, belonging, and reduce negative peer interactions as indicated by improved NJSCI and Educlimber data, through deepened culturally responsive teaching, strengthened Tier 1 interventions, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices, and positive classroom management strategies.
    • LHS staff will exhibit increased capacity in supporting all students through an Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework and culturally responsive practices, as evidenced by curriculum review and integration of inclusive materials.
